EXP3 - Developed Environment

Below: Top view of the bridge spanning the strath-type valley, connected two sides of an apocalyptic chaos as a forewarning - that withow women, the world would be in crisis.

Below: Outline of area's within and around the bridge.
Note: Helen Keller's office to meeting space key: N, and back again key: L
Miranda Kerr's office to meeting space key: O, and back again key: U

The offices are designed to that Helen's office faces the flames, and Miranda's office faces the landscape that isnt on fire. The angle of the offices allows for neither office space to view the other.

Below: View from Helen's office.

Below: View from Miranda's office.

Below: Miranda's first view of the burning landscape, as exiting the elevator.

Below: View from meeting place, spanning the flames, water and earth.

EXP 3 - Draft Environment

Above: An early attempt at landscape form and first successful elevator.

Above: Experimentation with landscape alterations including layer painting, clouds and particles.

Above: Decision to place bridge in an area that is obviously not leading to any place in particular, trying to express the idea of a bridge to nowhere.

Above: Further experimentation with particles; fire and smoke. Decision to run with apocalyptic theme - pressing the idea that without women, the world would be in crisis.

EXP3 - Mashup

During life, as the woman says, the crisis issue is overwhelmingly spread by most people. It is the activist, peacemaker and beloved women's rights advocates in the world that pose a threat to dominant people, as everywhere today the mose famous women are ensuring the stability of everyone else.

Amended construction

Think i have a pretty good idea how i want the bridge/office space to work. My elevators will be horizontal rather than vertical. Have not yet decided whether to have the meeting space/table off the edge of the construction or connected to it.
The bridge is constructed so that each work space can not view the other work space, and that each space has a large open view of the landscape. The meeting space will have a narrower view, as the meeting is about a connection between the clients, rather than an appreciation for the landscape.
The bridge contain 2 work spaces, one creates an acute angle to the main corridoor, and the other creates an obtuse angle.

elevator attempts

Trying to capture the changing landscape at different coordinates.
Would like the elevator to reveal only segments of the landscape.

Further terrain developments

Developing my basin valley with different textures, paints, times of day etc. Thinking of expressing an apocolyptic theme to stress the idea within my article mash-up : That the world would be in crisis (no pun intended) without women.

Above: First tests with clouds and rain.

Above: Adding more clouds, experimenting with heights and densities.

Above: Experimenting with night time and cloud cover.

Above: Experimenting with light and cloud shaddows/reflection.

Above: Experimenting with fire, smoke and dust.

Terrain - Trial 2, with test sketchup construction

I want to develop the landform so that it resembles Lake Eyre, a dry landscape that can vary from an empty basin to an enormous lake. These images are of my first attempts.
